New layouts

Wow, I have been busy. In the last 2 days I have done 2 layouts, strawberry box party favors, and valentine sucker cover cards with my daughter. I have done a lot. Ok the layouts are for a class I am teaching this weekend at my local Joann's.
As if these weren't cute enough, these chocolate filled strawberry boxes just might get ya. I have to say they are way cuter in person than on film, so use your imagination.

And then the valentines my daughter decided on doing are sucker covers as well as valentines. She picked out the colors and designs. I think they turned out really cute. I will give instructions and more details in the next couple of days. Have a Happy Valentines Day. :}

Poinsetta Pinwheels

A good friend of mine, Beth, asked me to help decorate for a Christmas party, and I said yes. She wanted to use retro colors, but had no other ideas. A few days later I got a new magazine and in it were Poinsettia pinwheels, similar to these, in somewhat retro colors. I decided this would somehow be our center pieces. I finally downloaded the instructions and converted the drawing into a cut file and cut them with my Big Bug. I recruited another one of our friends, Amber, to help with this project. We had to make 40 pinwheels which meant I had to cut about 120. The papers we liked were only one sided so we had to double cut to back the printed paper with a solid cardstock. Plus it takes 2 sets to make one 8 petal pinwheel. So you do the math, if it was printed paper it took 4 sets. Through a lot of trial and error we finally got in a groove and got them all done. Each arrangement had 5 or 6 pinwheels in a felt bucket surrounded by tissue for filler. They turned out really cute and were a big hit at the party.

I hope to start posting cut files soon and when I do these will be on there. If you would like the cut file now leave me a comment with your email and I will send it to you. :}

Can't finish anything today

I guess I have too many irons in the fire today and I can't seem to get anything finished. I have been working on this very cute thing tonight, but it just doesn't look like it is going to get done before bed time. So I am going to post something I completed back before Christmas. These recipe bookmarks were made in sets of 4. They can be used to mark sections of your recipe book and then write what pages your favorite recipes in that section are on or you could mark your favorite recipe and use the marker to write any changes to the recipe on. They were also done in a variety of colors schemes to match kitchen colors and themes. And I used my Cricut to cut the bowls, scallops & circles on each one. Have a great night :}
